Above and Beyond: Your Gateway to Dreams, Visions and Spiritual Illumination

Houses are very common in dreams.  They represent life.  Houses can represent our family, our church family, or even attitudes or the place where other people are at in their life.

The specific rooms will give you further insight.  The living room is the main part of our life.  The kitchen can represent a place of preparation or where we are “fed” or “feed others” spiritually, mentoring, at work, etc.  Bathrooms can indicate issues that we need to take care of or that God is taking care of for us – refer to Bathroom Dreams.  Closets can be where we hide stuff, as in secrets, or they can represent our prayer closet which reveals our relationship with God.

Pay attention to the details of the house.  Is it abandoned?  It could be saying that there’s something, like a ministry or job or family, that’s been neglected or abandoned.

If you are upstairs in a house it may indicate your thoughts, as in the thoughts or plans that are going on “upstairs” in your mind.  It may also reveal that you are “taking steps” in the right direction (up – as in positive).

A two-story house may also be a word-play representing that there are “two” sides to the “story”, as in two view points to a particular situation.

The foundation of the home indicates foundational issues that either need to be dealt with or are being dealt with.  Basements would reveal issues that are happening “below the surface” or things that are not obvious…perhaps even subconsciously.
