Above and Beyond: Your Gateway to Dreams, Visions and Spiritual Illumination

Remember, in dreams, almost always things are metaphorical.  When we think of babies, we think of new things being birthed.  These things could be jobs, ministries, areas of responsibilities, new beginnings, new ideas being birthed, etc.

Babies can also represent a maturity level, such as a “baby Christian” meaning someone who has just been “born” spiritually, or someone you are “mothering” or mentoring who is new at something – like a job, a volunteer position, etc.

If the baby is our own child, it may very well represent them, but we have found that usually it represents a gift – as in a talent or a skill, that God has given us.  For instance, my two children in my dreams usually represent my gifts, talents, skills in dream interpretation and teaching.

If you are in labor with a baby, then it would indicate that there’s something in your life that is taking a lot of effort…you are “laboring” over something and God is about to help you “birth” it or “deliver” it.

Being pregnant can indicate that you have “expectation” or that you are “expecting” something.  It may also reveal that God has put something in you that He will bring to it’s purpose in God’s timing.  Sometimes we know how far along we are in the dream – as in how many months pregnant we are or how many months we have left to go.  This may be a hidden indicator of timing or you may find meaning by looking up the definition to the specific number.  For instance, 5 means God’s grace.  Perhaps God is saying that He will give you the grace you need to deliver what He has planned for your life.  Being pregnant may also be a word-picture for something that you need to “come to terms” with. (We say, “full term” when someone goes into labor in the 9th month)

Twins may reveal that something you have been “expecting” is actually going to be more than you anticipated.
